Writing Guidelines

So you wanna write for the blog, huh? Stick to some of the rules below, for the sake of consistency.

Writing

  • Name the post after the reviewed item; avoid cutsey headlines
  • Keep it short: 300-500 words usually does the trick
  • Include a rating (on a scale of 1-5) and a three-word summary (for fun)
  • Make sure to proofread, because you probably made mistakes the first time

Images

  • Upload a high quality (800+ px) image of what you’re reviewing
  • Make sure to re-name the image file after the review subject before uploading
  • To upload, simply drag-and-drop on screen or navigate to the Media page
  • Assign said image as the Featured image of your post
  • Also, embed a medium-sized image thumbnail into the post

Web Stuff

  • Add to a category (books, movies, etc.); this should be pretty obvious
  • Include tags to label the post (eg. genres, actors, authors, etc.)
  • When finished, you can hit Publish
