Jurassic World

Jurassic World

Rating: 5/5

Summary: Park is open

Over twenty years after the original Jurassic Park was released, Hollywood has created the fourth installment in the dinosaur theme-park franchise.

The biggest twist is that this time, the park has successfully opened to the public.

This idea is unique enough to give new life to the franchise, much like the dinosaurs they depict. The most recent installation pays homage to the original movie, while still creating its own legacy.

The second and third sequels revolved around a few individuals stumbling across the dinosaur infested islands, left when the original park failed. This film sets 2o,000 tourists on the island with living prehistoric creatures.

Similar to the first film, there is an obvious theme of not tampering with or underestimating the power of nature.

Almost identical to the first film are the two young relatives of the park operator who get lost on a ride when one of the biggest dinosaurs breaks out of captivity.

Even if some of the plot turns were mildly predictable, the film was still full of stunning special effects, minor character development and humorous moments.

New to Jurassic World was the antagonists’ concept that the dinosaurs could be trained and weaponized. Although seen in other stories, this was new enough to this movie cannon to still be original.

Overall, Jurassic World was a thrilling summer blockbuster that moves straightforward at a good pace while keeping the audience entertained. While it may not be as groundbreaking as it’s predecessor, it still returns to the same spirit which made Jurassic Park a success.
